For Meridian residents dealing with vein concerns, the Vein Institute's Meridian location offers spider vein treatment in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Every visit starts with a one-on-one conversation with your provider about your specific symptoms and goals.
Minimally invasive treatment to reduce the visibility of small, thread-like veins on the legs and feet.
Dr. J. Keith Thompson most often treats spider veins with sclerotherapy, injecting a solution directly into the vein that causes it to collapse and gradually fade from view. Larger feeder (reticular) veins contributing to the spider veins can be addressed in the same series of treatments.

At your consultation, you'll meet with your provider to talk through your symptoms and history. If an ultrasound is needed to map the affected veins, our Certified Vascular Sonographer can often perform it during the same visit, and you'll be given a treatment plan based on the results.
There is little to no downtime after sclerotherapy. Patients typically wear compression garments for a period after treatment and often need multiple sessions, spaced about three weeks apart, to reach the desired result.
Our Meridian clinic is approx. 2 mi (about 5 min) from Meridian, and it's one of three Vein Institute locations across South Mississippi. Patients appreciate having a dedicated vein practice nearby, led by a surgeon with more than 20 years of experience managing complex leg vein conditions.

In addition to Meridian, our Meridian office regularly sees patients from Enterprise, MS, Quitman, MS, Newton, MS, Livingston, AL. Wherever you're coming from, the goal is the same: a comfortable visit and a clear treatment plan.
Sclerotherapy requires a series of injections, and multiple sessions are often needed to achieve the full result ā one round is generally not enough to clear all visible veins.
We advise wearing compression garments after treatment to support healing and improve results, and scheduling follow-up sessions roughly three weeks apart.
Spider veins can look cosmetic at first, but they can also cause aching or discomfort and tend to worsen over time, which is why an evaluation is worth scheduling.
