Spider Vein Treatment for Philadelphia, MS Patients

Patients from Philadelphia travel a short distance to our Meridian office for spider vein treatment. The Vein Institute is home to South Mississippi's only 100%, full-time, board-certified vein specialist, and we welcome patients from Philadelphia and nearby communities.

What Is Spider Veins?

Minimally invasive treatment to reduce the visibility of small, thread-like veins on the legs and feet.

Dr. J. Keith Thompson most often treats spider veins with sclerotherapy, injecting a solution directly into the vein that causes it to collapse and gradually fade from view. Larger feeder (reticular) veins contributing to the spider veins can be addressed in the same series of treatments.

Who This Helps

Philadelphia patients often come to the Vein Institute with one or more of these symptoms or questions about spider veins:

  • Thin, web-like red, blue, or purple veins near the skin's surface
  • Mild aching or burning over visible veins
  • Veins that appear to worsen or spread over time
  • Discomfort after long periods of standing

How It Works & Recovery

At your consultation, you'll meet with your provider to talk through your symptoms and history. If an ultrasound is needed to map the affected veins, our Certified Vascular Sonographer can often perform it during the same visit, and you'll be given a treatment plan based on the results.

There is little to no downtime after sclerotherapy. Patients typically wear compression garments for a period after treatment and often need multiple sessions, spaced about three weeks apart, to reach the desired result.

Why Philadelphia Patients Choose The Vein Institute

Patients from Philadelphia choose the Vein Institute because our Meridian office is approx. 48 mi (about 60 min) away and is staffed by a board-certified vein specialist rather than a general practice that treats veins occasionally. Dr. J. Keith Thompson is double board-certified in general and vascular surgery and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.

Our clinical team includes a double board-certified vascular surgeon, a Certified Vascular Sonographer with more than 18 years of vein ultrasound experience, and a Nurse Practitioner trained directly by Dr. Thompson in sclerotherapy — all focused exclusively on vein care.

The Meridian clinic at 103 S Frontage Road, Ste 310, Meridian, MS 39301 is approx. 48 mi (about 60 min) from Philadelphia. It's one of three Vein Institute locations across South Mississippi, so you're never far from board-certified vein care.

Serving Philadelphia and Nearby Areas

In addition to Philadelphia, our Meridian office regularly sees patients from Newton, MS, Meridian, MS, Enterprise, MS, Livingston, AL. Wherever you're coming from, the goal is the same: a comfortable visit and a clear treatment plan.
